Dr. Richard Kimmel Named as President of National Organization

The American College of Osteopathic Surgeons (ACOS) has elected Dr. Richard Kimmel as the President of their national organization. The American College of Osteopathic Surgeons is committed to assuring excellence in osteopathic surgical care through education, advocacy, leadership development, and the fostering of professional and personal relationships.
Dr. Kimmel is the owner and founder of The Kimmel Institute, a premier vein treatment, laser and aesthetic practice located in Boca Raton. A nationally-recognized board-certified Cardiothoracic and Vascular (CTV) Surgeon, Dr Kimmel has been in private practice in South Florida since 1991. He has held previous positions with the AOCS including president-elect (2012, 2013), Chairman (2004-2006) and ACA Program Chair (1999, 2000) of the Cardiothoracic and Vascular Discipline, as well a member of the Board of Governors since 2007. Dr. Kimmel’s credentials and experience have made The Kimmel Institute a designated training center for other physicians and staff in the use of the Dornier Laser System for vein treatment. Dr. Kimmel is a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians, a Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons, a Clinical Investigator with the NIH, an Affiliate Member of the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center of the University of South Florida, and an Assistant Clinical Instructor in Surgery at the Nova-Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Davie, Florida.

As ACOS President, I will promote this philosophy while collaborating with like-minded organizations to effect positive change in healthcare policy and training.”
