Vein Disease Symptoms

Vein Disease Symptoms Are Not the Same for Everyone

Many patients at my Boca Raton vein center, The Kimmel Institute, are shocked when we tell them that that they are suffering from venous disease.  This is partly because vein symptoms often develop and progress so insidiously, that patients aren’t even aware that there may be something wrong. Vein disease tends to be a slow, progressive process with a wide spectrum of symptoms.  The classic symptoms include leg pain, heaviness, fatigue and swelling at the end of the day, extensive varicose veins on the leg, clusters of small spider veins on the inside of the ankles, and brownish skin discoloration near the ankles.  However, not everyone suffers from all symptoms. Many people just learn to “live with” certain aches and pains.  Also, while regular exercise is great for your health, many patients who exercise daily actually alleviate their symptoms, without even realizing they are suffering from venous disease. The best way to accurately diagnose the presence and extent of your vein disease is to visit a vein center operated by a vascular surgeon and staffed with a credentialed RVT who can perform a venous duplex ultrasound, which will evaluate the blood flow in your system.  At The Kimmel Institute, we use a combination of procedures and equipment to provide the most comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of vein disease. Call 561-477-0210 if you currently suffer with, or believe you may have, any symptoms of vein disease.
